OATE Mentor Teacher Award

Do you know a mentor teacher who goes above and beyond to support, guide, and inspire student teachers? 

Eligibility Criteria: 

1. A mentor teacher who is actively serving or has recently served as a mentor teacher to a student teacher.  
2. Demonstrates excellence in teaching, leadership, and professional practice.
3. Provides consistent guidance, feedback, and encouragement to student teachers.
4. Creates a welcoming and inclusive environment that supports growth and confidence

Who can nominate: 

Nominations may be submitted by any member of the teacher education community. 

Nomination Submission Process:

• A nomination letter addressed to the OATE selection committee (maximum two single-spaced pages) describing how the nominee demonstrates excellence in teaching based on the award criteria described above.
• A statement of teaching philosophy from the nominee (maximum two single-spaced pages)

Nomination Deadline:  December 1, 2025
